Our Flagship Leadership Course
Our program is a comprehensive program of eight full-day sessions* and a one-hour individual coaching session addressing the following topics:
- Applying leadership principles
- Leadership versus management
- Understanding yourself and others as a leader
- Leadership Integrity
- Providing effective feedback
- Communicating to motivate
- Leading difficult/strong-willed people
- Leading in conflict situations
- Leading change: motivating individual change and leading organizational change
- Taking and controlling personal/career risk
- Empowering and growing others: delegating, coaching, mentoring, empowering
- Team-building
- Defining a personal leadership style
- Inspiring leadership in others and creating a leadership culture
* Due to the pandemic, we adapted our in-person program so that the material from each full-day session is now covered in two half-day Zoom sessions. We returned to our in-person class offerings in September 2021 in multiple locations, but the online version worked so well that we intend to continue to offer at least one online course option each year going forward.
The program also includes three self-discovery activities foster long-term skills development:
- Creating a well-defined personal vision
- Defining a personal leadership style
- Creating a personal longer-term plan to continue growing leadership skills

Where Is The Leadership Course Offered?
We conducted several courses this past year via Zoom. We now offer most of our training courses in either online Zoom sessions or via in-person training. In-person and remote courses are currently open for registration.

New York: ACEC/NY
ACEC/NY will be offering both in-person (Manhattan & Syracuse) and a virtual class option starting in September 2024. ACEC/NY's website has registration information.
We have offered over 35 leadership classes for ACEC/NY's Leadership Institute, and many of these have SOLD OUT both for online and in-person classes in recent years, so please don't delay your registration!
Massachusetts: ACEC/MA
Information about the upcoming ACEC/MA program (starting September 2024) and the registration form brochure will soon be found on their website.
We SOLD OUT the leadership classes that started in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 for ACEC/MA's Odyssey Leadership Program, so please don't delay your registration!
Virginia: ACEC/VA
ACEC/VA offered an in-person (Richmond area) program that started in September 2022. We completed leadership classes in 2019 and 2021 in Richmond VA with both in-person and remote attendance options. The next class will begin in September 2024. Information about the ACEC/VA enhanced leadership programs can be found on their website.
New Hampshire: ACEC/NH
UPDATE! Due to popular demand, the next class is scheduled to begin in September 2024 (not in 2025). ACEC/NH's Granite Flagship Leadership Program offered an in-person class that finished in May 2024. Priority is given to participants from ACEC member companies. Information and registration information can be found on their website.
Rhode Island: ACEC/RI
ACEC/RI recently offered a remote leadership class that we completed in the summer of 2022. Watch this space for future offerings.
Remote Classes
We will have two online classes that start in September 2024. We now have remote options that start at convenient times for all continental US time zones. Many of our most recent online classes completely SOLD OUT. Please use our online link to register today or you can register through your local ACEC chapter to receive a member discount.
